John Hughes joined The Recruiter's Guild in January of 2010 as the Managing Director. He is also currently a Managing Director of a top retained executive search firm and owner of an employment site. Prior to joining an executive recruitment practice in 2009, John held Recruiting leadership roles in a variety of disciplines. His experience includes:

• Senior Director of Recruiting, H-E-B Grocery Company
• Director of Staffing, Pier 1 Imports
• Manager of Recruiting, Wal-Mart Stores/Sam’s Club

John brings a consultative and innovative approach as an established recruiting industry leader offering solutions to your most complex talent acquisition issues. John is well known for his ability to find the passive candidate and turn them into a new hire for his clients. He is skilled in executive search, outsourcing services, outplacement services, recruiting structure development, company branding initiatives, college/MBA recruiting and recruiting programs using social media. John has personally sat in each role within a corporate recruiting structure from College Recruiter to Director of Recruiting. He has led the recruiting function for three multi-billion fortune 500 companies. In his most recent leadership role his department placed 4th in the nation for overall best recruiting function in EREs yearly award competition. John is also known for coaching and developing other recruiters using a variety of self developed learning programs.

John is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. He lives with his wife and young son in San Antonio, Texas.
